Supported corporate-wide strategic initiatives by identifying technologies which could be deployed to achieve business goals. Installed, tested, and advocated new technologies which could be demonstrated to have a positive impact on business information and operations. 1994-1995 role: integrate operations, services & Voice/Data Networks
Reporting to VP of IS, managed 45 staff in 4 groups: Technical Services, Computer Operations, Technical Writing and MIS Administration. Managed for support of high business growth, new remote offices and newly-acquired business units. Responsible for design, justification, approval and management of voice and data networks, as well as computer system improvements for seamless interoperability with close to 100% uptime for 1500 PC users with integration within Windows. Provided WAN support for regional remote offices. Responsible for maintenance, technical support and operations for numerous NT, OS/2 and Netware servers, HP3000 and HP9000 minicomputer systems, Nortel PBX voice switches, and an extensive data network - over 60 Ethernet segments supporting individual computing, groupware and high-end workflow applications with image storage and retrieval.

Responsible for all computing infrastructure support. Developed LAN and WAN networks from scratch. Built up technical staff for network implementation and support. Managed installation and support of new HP9000 and HP3000 corporate servers. Supported 3270 emulation gateway to IBM/MVS over WAN. Supervised 4 technical staff.1989-1990 role: Systems Programming Manager - startup
Reorganized for fast business growth in MIS. Developed the Technical Support function for accelerated acquisition and installation of corporate systems, networks and peripheral equipment. Designed and installed a new corporate data center and connectivity for a new corporate headquarters. Planned and executed the move of all computing equipment to the new facility (at Hobbs Brook Office Park) with 2 new technical "seed" staff.1987-1989 role: Applications Programming Manager - startup
Developed a staff team of 6 from scratch. Managed HP3000-based application development using 4GL and maintenance of custom COBOL/VPLUS Enrollment/Claims systems, PC deployment, configuration and support. Performed system updates, configuration and support. Planned new computer system acquisitions, making configuration recommendations and getting approvals, then installing and implementing all new computer room equipment.
